The typical inspection fee for a single family home may vary depending on the size of the house, certain features of the house, the sale price, its age, location and possible additional services. Generally, the larger and/or older the home, the more the inspection is going to cost. However, the average fee for a standard home inspection is typically at least $350. Optional inspections such as pools, wood destroying insects and sprinklers can be added on if needed and generally bring additional fees.

Well imagine the cost of hiring a licensed electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, roofing company, foundation company, pest control company, pool company, and irrigation company to come out to inspect your potential new home.
